Why Pray When God Knows What We Need Before We Ask

Why pray when God already knows what we need is one question we would all have to ask ourselves at one point in our lives.

You may begin to wonder if God hears your prayers at one point in your life. I mean the period when you think giving up is the best option.

There are many reasons why you must pray as a Christian, even though God knows what you need at every point in time.

One particular question I find intriguing is if we can’t change God’s will, why bother praying?

I remember a point in time when I felt like praying was useless and hopeless to solve my dilemma. The experience for me felt like God should solve my problems before I ask with prayer.

This article is about why you must pray even when God knows your needs before you ask through prayer. I will also explain the benefits of prayer for Christians.

I would love to hear from you in the comment section at the end of the post. Let me know your reactions, opinions and questions about this article.

Prayer for Christians

Prayer is an activity of communication with God, our heavenly father. It is an opportunity to express your gratitude and seek help with our problems.

Praying is a necessary activity for every Christian. There is no alternative to prayer.

As instructed in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, you must learn how to pray every day.

Prayerlessness is not an option for believers who want to follow the teachings of Christ.

Praying is the best thing to do when you find yourself in a situation or challenge that is greater than your capability.

You see, prayer is the resort for Christians in every situation. The scripture in 1 John 5:14–15 gives us the confidence that we would get everything we ask through prayer and supplications.

As the scripture says in Philippians 4:6–7, prayer is the solution to every one of your challenges.

Pray When God Knows What We Need

Why should we bother to pray when God knows what we need or can’t change his will?

There are many reasons you must pray as a Christian, which I will highlight in this section post.

The scripture in James 5:16 reveals the power of prayer to bring positivity into your life path.

At every point, you must make prayer your lifestyle.

Here are the reasons why you should pray when God knows what you need before you ask;

  1. Prayer is an Instruction
  2. Build Your Faith in Christ
  3. Appreciation to God
  4. Get Divine Guidance in Decision Making
  5. Align Yourself to God’s Will
  6. Invites the Holy Spirit Into Your Life

Prayer is an Instruction

The Bible in 1 Thes. 5:17–19 instruct every Christian to pray without ceasing. It is the will of Christ that you pray at all times at any location or time.

Prayer is a necessary activity for believers. It is the way to communicate with God in heaven. With prayer, we can talk to God and get a response.

People may know what you need but would do nothing about it except ask for assistance. As the saying goes, a closed mouth is a shut destiny.

From today, continue your daily prayer schedule because it is an instruction from God.

Build Your Faith in Christ

Faith is hope for the future that is yet to happen. It is a belief to get something you do not possess or an event you wish to take place.

The expression of faith through prayer is a key to unlocking opportunities for your life. Having to believe in God is a display of your reliance on Christ.

God wants you to have faith in him by praying for your needs. In the place of prayer, you develop the hope that God hears you.

So, do not see prayer as a waste of time. The Lord wants you to express your faith through prayer. An opportunity to tell him what you want him to do for you.

I pray that the Lord will answer all your prayers and supplications.

Appreciation to God

Prayer is a way to show appreciation to God for all that he has done for you. It is not just an activity to ask for your needs or solution to your challenges.

The scriptures in Psalm 103:1-4 highlights the importance of the prayer of thanksgiving.

Prayer is an avenue for you to cherish the grace of God in your life.

Get Divine Guidance in Decision Making

Divine guidance in decision making is the foundation of complete success for believers.

You need the direction of God in every step you take in life. It is necessary to avoid common mistakes.

Prayer is the way to seek God’s approval in every decision you make in your life.

God knows everything you need even before you ask him in prayer. But the Lord wants you to commit all of your business to his hands.

The scripture in Isaiah 58:11 is a clear example of the benefits of allowing God to guide you in all your decision-making process.

Align Yourself to God’s Will

Aligning yourself to the will of God is the goal of every true believer. It is like allowing God to take the wheel of your destiny.

Sometimes, you make decisions or mistakes that are contrary to the will of God. This experience can cause a deviation from God’s plan for us.

Prayer is the medium to align yourself to God’s will. It is why you must pray even though he knows your desires.

Invites the Holy Spirit Into Your Life

The holy spirit is the great comforter. He is a friend, a teacher and a guardian.

Every Christian must have the Holy Spirit in themselves to fulfil the will of God for their lives.

Without the Holy Spirit, you would not be able to carry out the exploits as promised in the scriptures.

Prayer is the only way to invite the Holy Spirit into your life.
